Alpinestars has always been a leader when it comes motocross boots (and motorcycle protection in general!), and it's premium Tech 10 boot has set the benchmark in dirt bike boots for over a decade.

The Tech 10 underwent an overhaul for 2020, however Alpinestars went ahead and further refined the product for 2021. From afar, the boots look almost identical, so what exactly is different about it? Let us explain...

Alpinestars had three priorities when it came to refining the 2021 Tech 10 boot - those being improving functionality, decrease weight and reduce material volume.

By focusing on these three priorities, Alpinestars has been able to deliver a greater freedom of movement and flexibility, while also coming through with greater control over the flexion and torsion forces for better protection and increased rider confidence.

Here's how they did it...

Enhanced Functionality, performance and safety:

The most significant upgrades to the 2021 Tech 10 include the Frontal Flexion Control Frame, the Asymmetrical Dual-pivot Arms, and the Dynamic Heel Compression Protection Shock Absorber, which is integrated into a redesigned foot shell and the slimmer, more streamlined, outsole.

Reduced weight:

The crew at Apinestars has managed to make the new Tech 10 boot lighter - 400 grams lighter, in fact!

They were able to achieve this by looking at every piece that goes into the Tech 10 and redesigning them to be lighter, introducing new material composites that are more durable to handle the elements of off-road riding and racing.

The 2021 model also comes equipped with new, new, cold-forged, aluminium buckles that are easy to use with a self-aligning, precise closure.

Reduced Material Volume:

With a reduction in weight, comes a reduction in the volume of material. This Tech 10 motocross boot has reduced profile and physical size in comparison to the older Alpinestars Tech 10.

What about the Tech 10 Supervented?

The 2021 Alpinestars Tech 10 Supervented is an all-new offering from the brand, and as you probably guessed, it's a heavily ventilated model of the updated Tech 10 boot.

Featuring two inlet ports on the front, a ventilated shinplate, perforated padding and extensive mesh sections, it's been designed for the maximum in ventilation - perfect for our hot, Aussie summers!

The new mesh inner bootie boasts a 3D Higher Spring insole that uses air channels within the sole for optimal levels of ventilation, and it creates a cushioning effect for enhanced levels of comfort.
