Round 5 - Angel Stadium - Anaheim, CA

450 Main Event:

A lightening quick start this week from the new Suzuki 450 pilot Blake Baggett secured him the holeshot ahead of Alessi who made his best first lap of his season so far but faded back to 17th overall.

Fox rider Ryan Dungey seems to have picked up on some of Ken Roczens earlier form with a super smooth and superiorly fast pace which saw him walk away from the field and secure a convincing win ahead of Cole Seely who made his best finish on the 450 yet.

Eli Tomac fought hard along with Canard and Roczen and a slowly fading Baggett. Kenny is slightly off the pace seemingly from last week’s crash finishing the night behind Tomac but in front of Canard While the points lead Dungey has creeps forward a little more heading into Round 6 next weekend Roczen will need to regroup and find some of that confidence he had in earlier rounds to reel Dungey back in.

Reed finished a respectable 6th while his teammate Josh Grant took out the number 22 spot clearly not having a great season!

250 Main Event:

Some controversy again in the lites class as Zach Osborne was handicapped off the start when his gate didn’t drop! His hand was raised right away indicating there was an issue but it wasn’t for a full 6 laps that the red flag was raised and the race restarted.

This was great news for Osborne who took an eventual 4th place but served as an annoyance for the rest of the field who had already raced over a third of the main event just to have to line up and start over.

Luckily for Answer Racing Cooper Webb who made a good start in the first moto managed to repeat the performance and took another convincing win extending his points lead even further on the rest of the field. Jessy Nelson made his second best finish of the season with 2nd and Aaron Plessinger made his first podium of the season in third.

Tyler Bowers made a huge mistake and went over the bars through a rhythm section but still managed 15th while Aussie Jackson Richardson took a respectable 11th ahead of last weeks winner Malcolm Stewart who took 17th.
