Whether you ride motocross or enduro, a dirt bike tour with your mates riding multiple tracks over a weekend (or more!) is what we all long for.

In this guide, we look at five key things you should have prepared before you load up and set off.

Pre-oil air filters: One of the best hacks to a dirt bike road trip is pre-oiling air filters and storing them in a zip-lock bag. This will you from having to do the usually messy job at the track or where you're staying, while reducing the chance of getting any dirt inside. We recommended oiling and taking the same amount of filters as the number of days you anticipate to ride.

Pack multiple gear sets: The last thing you want to be doing is having to clean gear and hope it drys between riding days, or even worse, wearing dirty gear! Pack multiple sets of riding gear if you can, and just like air filters, pack the same amount gear sets as days you plan on riding.

Bike security: While it's all fun and games when you're on a dirt bike road trip, it's important not to overlook bike security. Generally speaking, our bikes are more vulnerable while travelling, so it's important to keep them as secure as possible, while keeping an eye on your surroundings.

Spare parts: You don't want your riding trip ruined by a flat tyre or a snapped clutch lever. Pack spare parts of just the essentials, such as levers, tubes, spark plugs, and depending on how long you plan to stay away for, even a chain and spare tyre might be worth throwing in the van or trailer.

Tools: When riding day after day, you're going to have do some bike work, which means packing all the necessary tools to get each task done. We recommend packing all of your regular tools, plus things like a pump and tyre levers.
