What is the glance off effect?

The glance off effect is a helmet’s ability to redirect and reduce the energy received to the riders head in the event of a crash. It does so by using the helmet’s design to slide past e.g “glance off” surfaces or objects without slowing down or coming to an outright stop. The self shearing peak screws work in harmony with this feature to enhance the glance off effect and maximise the safety of the helmet.

AMS² Plus System

Technological development is an unstoppable force which has only fuelled Airoh’s ambition to introduce even more sophisticated safety measures like the new AMS² Plus system which has brought safety and comfort parameters to the highest level. For the first time a new material has been introduced which at its core is to enable the ability of the helmet to dissipate kinetic energy in case of impact. State-of-the-art plastic material has been engineered to create the best defence against the forces involving the head, in case of impact. The material, in contact with the head, has memory foam qualities, guaranteeing a superlative fit and improving comfort for the rider. The system, composed by two overlapping shells with differentiated densities, has been upgraded further with the renewed design of silicone polymers, which ensures relative motion between the two hemispheres. This means that even when under full compression in the event of a crash, these two surfaces can still rotate against each other. This improvement in design makes the response to stresses even more effective in case of angular impact, and the resulting capacity of the AMS² Plus system to dissipate the quantity of energy transmitted to the rider’s head.
