Pro Spotlight: Kirk Gibbs’ CDR Yamaha YZ450F main image

An MX Nationals champion, Kirk Gibbs is one of the likeable riders in Australian motocross.

In this edition of Pro Spotlight, we dive into Gibbs' CDR Yamaha YZ450F to highlight the key components on his factory machine.

Pro Circuit TI-6 Pro titanium exhaust system:
Pro Circuit has been the long-time supplier of exhaust systems for the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy team, and their bikes are only fitted with the best - the TI-6 Pro titanium. The system is designed for racers, offering performance and weight advantages. It's constructed of titanium throughout the header pipe, mid-pipe, and canister, while the end-cap is carbon fibre.

Unifilter air filter:
An air filter is one of the most important components on a dirt bike, yet it's also one of the more simple and affordable parts. CDR uses Unifilter air filters to get the most out of their race bikes, all while ensuring no dirt will ever get sucked into the engine.

Renthal Twinwall 996 handlebars:
Riders get many different options when it comes handlebars - they can choose between different bends, and whether they want tapered or cross-bar handlebars. Gibbs' preference is the Renthal Twinwall 996 handlebar, which is the brand's premium offering with a cross-bar. He also uses Renthal full diamond grips.

Dunlop tyres:
One of the perks of being a factory rider is access to factory rubber, and the CDR team uses Dunlop. While you can't buy the exact tyres Gibbs is using, you can get the equivalent. It obviously depends what type of surface he's riding as to what tyre he's running, however, the most common tyre would be the Dunlop Geomax MX33.

Kite wheels:
When you're one of the fastest riding in the country and racing the gnarliest tracks, you need some strong wheels beneath you. Gibbs' has Kite wheels fitted to his YZ450F, with a factory-looking black rim/blue hub combination.

NGK spark plug:
NGK is another brand that's been with the CDR Yamaha team for years on end, and they continue to supply the Australian team with spark plugs.
