Putting your dirt bike on a stand sounds like an easy task, but MX bikes are heavy and awkward to manoeuvre.

In this guide, we share three of our favourite technique to lift a dirt bike onto a motorbike stand.

Technique 1: The first technique requires a lift stand, which we recommend for junior riders, short riders, and those who might not have the strength to lift their bike onto a box stand. The lift is super simple to use, and it's also the easiest. To use it, simply pull your bike up, push the stand beneath the bike, and then use the foot lever to lift the bike up. Ensure the ground is relatively level and that the foot lever has been pushed completely down.

Technique 2: The second technique is using a traditional box bike stand, which is the most popular and sturdy option for motocross and enduro riders. The fixed height of a box dirt bike stand can make it difficult to get the bike, although one technique is to grab the side panel or rear guard, and throw the bike on the stand. This is usually for taller and stronger riders, as they're able to get the clearance and momentum to easily place the bike on the stand. There is another technique for shorter and maybe not as strong riders.

Technique 3: The third technique is once again using the box stand, however this for riders who are unable to do the above. For this technique, place the stand next to the bike, grab the rear wheel with one or two hands (if you use one, you can use your other hand to stabilise the bike via the rear fender), bend your knees, and lift the bike up and over the stand. This is the safest and most efficient way to lift your bike onto an MX stand.
