Moto Development's Shane Booth and Chris Urquhart bring you a how-to guide on the standing position on your dirt bike. Your standing position is one of the most essential pieces to your riding, whether you're heading offroad or riding motocross. If you can get your standing position dialed, everything should flow on from there with a lot more ease, saving you a lot of energy when you're out riding.

The boys talk you through everything from where to place your feet on the footpegs, how bent your knees need to be on your bike, and where your upper body sits when you're holding on to the handlebars. There are six key areas that you can use to break down the standing position on your bike, and they take you through every single one of them to ensure you know exactly where you should be standing on the bike.

The video above will give you a good insight into how relaxed you should look in the standing position, as well as how well your bike stays balanced when you're standing in the correct position. Moving around on the bike becomes a lot simpler from the central standing position, allowing you more time to focus on getting the bike to do exactly what you want it to do.

MXstore is extremely proud to support the Moto Development program and work with Chris and Shane as they share their experience and knowledge with the dirt bike industry. Keep up the amazing work fellas! Be sure to check out the How-To Guide: Applying the Standing Position to see how you take these skills and apply them to riding out on the track or trails.
