MX Nationals and Australian Supercross Championship contender Hayden Mellross is one of the country's most popular riders, and there's good reason why - not only can he ride a dirt bike exceptionally well, but he's also amongst the nicest people you'll ever meet.

In this edition of Pro Spotlight, we cover the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy rider's kit that allows him to take on Australia's best MX talents.

Fox V3 helmet:
With Fox Racing being a long-time sponsor of the CDR Yamaha team, you'll find Mellross wearing the latest V3 helmet. The team uses custom-painted, all-black V3's that emblazon the recognisable Monster Energy claw. The V3 underwent a major overhaul for 2020 and it's now one of the most advanced helmets on the market, particularly thanks to the Fluid Inside technology and Magnetic Visor Release System.

Oakley Airbrake goggles:
CDR Yamaha Monster Energy has a list of team sponsors that riders are required to use their products, such as Fox, however they are allowed their own personal goggle sponsor. Mellross uses Oakley's premium Airbrake goggle, which revolutionised the goggle industry over the last decade and still sets the standard amongst its competitors.

Fox gear:
Fox has some of the best looking gear available, and it also has the widest range on the market. You'll find the New South Welshman wearing anything from the premium Flexair gear, all the way through to the entry-level 180 gear set. CDR riders also typically sport any limited edition drops from the brand as well.

Pod K8 2.0 knee braces:
Knee braces are up there in the top three pieces of protective equipment that a rider wears, and for Mellross, he uses the Pod K8 offering. Pod is a leader when it comes to knee braces, and the K8 2.0 provides superior protection as it helps to prevent knee injuries with its forged carbon frame and human motion hinge.

Fox Instinct boots:
The Fox Instinct boot has cemented itself amongst the premium motocross boots on the market, and it's exactly what you'll find on the feet of the number 45. One of the most comfortable dirt bike boots available, the Instinct features a hinge lockout system that stops motion before hyperextension, plus it utilises an exclusive Fox Duratac rubber compound sole for superior grip and durability.

Fox Raceframe chest protector:
Chest protectors are an optional piece of protective gear, although we always recommend kitting yourself out in one. Mellross protects himself with the Fox Raceframe chest protector, which can be worn under or over the jersey - in Hayden's case, he almost always uses the chest protector under his jersey.
