Conondale Classic 2025

Conondale once again was filled with positive community spirit, thousands of pre-95 dirt bikes, cold beers, and campfires as riders and fanatics made the annual pilgrimage to Green Park for this year’s Classic Weekend the largest fundraiser of the year for Sunshine Coast MCC. Organisers were on edge as record regional rainfall in the lead-up had the potential to sink Green Park, but the heavens opened and sunshine gleamed down on Australia’s premier venue, delivering what many called perfect conditions all weekend. At dawn on Friday, the gates opened and hundreds set up camp across the paddocks, with bikes on display and bargains changing hands as Swap Meet stalls dotted the grounds. Tales of a $400 DT175, a $50 Trials Bike, and a $20 Kawasaki Jacket that got auctioned off for $2,000 were just a few of the wild deals floating around.

Tracks were primed for Saturday and the riders got amongst it when the clock struck 9am. Old thumpers, banging 2-strokes, and everything in between filled the tracks, hills, and loops to keep riders buzzing all day long. It’s hard to describe how much fun was being had—check out the photos for yourself here! As Classic Weekend isn’t a race event, it allowed riders to choose when they rode, repaired, refueled, or just chilled. A huge thanks to all the riders for looking out for one another—with no major injuries reported, it’s a true testament to how fun and safe Classic Weekend is, even with 500 riders on the tracks!

Dirtlab Show N Shine is always a highlight on Saturday. This year, the categories were simplified, with over $850 worth of Dirtlab products awarded to the top three bikes in Pre-95, Pre-1978, and the GB’s Pick categories. The competition was fierce, with countless hours poured into researching parts, prepping, restoring, and perfecting these vintage bikes. It’s a true celebration of the artform that is bike building. A massive thank you to everyone who entered—you inspire every person who laid eyes on your machines.

Saturday night kicked off with Stephen Gall hosting a string of auctions to raise funds for the MXoN Australia Team heading to the USA later this year. Sam Moore walked away with Glen Bell’s iconic "Go The Rat" Marlboro pants and shirt, and a stack of signed merch raised over $5,000 for the team. Geoff Ballard also donated a framed 2008 Greece ISDE jersey, which fetched $1,100 from volunteer and Grass Track marshall Andrew—what a legend! The funds will help get the Australian ISDE Team to Italy later this year.

Tons of raffle prizes were handed out, ranging from Ballards Off Road gear and tools, to Pirelli, Motul, Polisport and TCX Boots vouchers, Heatwave Goggles, Tool Kit Depot gear, Rat Racing jerseys and pants, Kustom MX sticker kits and more—keeping the crowd buzzing and the winners stoked.

The infamous and immaculately restored Raffle Bike, a 1989 TT250, went to Nick Hall! Nick was speechless when his name was called but was out there doing laps the next day. Big congrats to Nick, and hats off to all the volunteers and sponsors who poured time and parts into the build—including Kustom MX, Link International, Pirelli Tires, Axiom Wheels, suspension upgrades and more. After the auctions and raffle, Eighty’s Recall cranked out a killer set while the crew from Spangled Drongo brewery kept the cold ones flowing well into the night. Sunday’s riding kicked off a little slower but rolled on smoothly until 3pm, with camps slowly packing up, faces still smiling and bikes (and bodies) a little dusty.

Huge thanks to all the volunteers, suppliers, the Conondale P&C for catering, and every partner who helped make this year’s Conondale Classic Weekend such a success. Without the riders and spectators, it wouldn’t have the vibe and electric energy we all love.

Save the date for next year: 5–7 June 2026, and be sure to lock in your rider ticket early!
