Round 12 - Ford Field - Detroit, MI

450 Main Event:

A big crash in one of the heat races saw Canard and Weimer leave with some injuries when Weimer cased one of the long rhythm sections leaving Canard with nowhere to go but land right on his back. Weimer was slammed and appeared to be unconscious and Canard was stretchered off the track with his left shoulder in a sling. The look of disappointment was all over Trey’s face as he was sitting in a healthy second place in the championship behind Dungey so this is a setback for the Fly Racing Rider! Hoping for a speedy recover Trey!

Just like clockwork Short took the holeshot and early lead but faded back to 9th place at the finish line. Dungey was again out in front but Alpinestars rider Eli Tomac blitzed past the red plate holder and took off to a commanding lead! Dungey had no answer and settled for second place and collected some more points towards his championship campaign while Cole Seely had another solid ride to finish in 3rd place just in front of Chad Reed!

The tricky rhythm sections played havoc on a number of riders including Peick and Anderson. Elhombre clipped his foot on a take off which threw him over the bars superman style into a heavy crash. Peick got out of shape through another section and whiskey throttled into a berm almost taking out Millsaps who had a decent ride finishing in 5th place ahead of Josh Grant.

250 Main Event:

The Geico Honda team made a 1 and 2 off the start with Bogle taking a solid holeshot while Marvin was sitting in around 6th place for the first lap with a bit of work to do!

While Bogle was making the most of his early lead Martin Davalos cased a rhythm section and went down taking out Hampshire in the process. Musquin picked up 2 easy places due to this but had to really fight to get past Savatgy and by that stage Bogle was way out in front and that’s how they would finish with Bogle first ahead of Musquin, Savatgy and Martin.

Bogle now moves closer to Musquin in the championship while Martin is slightly falling behind in third while Savatgy is closing in 4th. No doubt Martin will be keen to get back into the outdoors in 2015 after dominating the 2014 championship!
