Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Round 11 – Crawfordsville, Indiana:

450 MX:

The heavens opened up on the weekend for the AMA at one of the most crucial points of the season. The mud brought a whole new set of challenges for riders which proved to be too much for some, but for others the rain was a gift from above which gave them a massive advantage for the closing stages of the championship!

The rookie Kenny Roczen has opened up his championship lead once again going 1-2 proving to be a bit of a mud specialist. The pressure was on from his Red Bull KTM team mate Dungey but Ryan didn’t seem to enjoy his weekend and ended up in 3rd overall.

Canard stayed consistent even pulling a win in the second moto for 2nd overall and Aussie Chad Reed made his best finish in recent weeks with a 6th overall! Reedy has been battling some injuries recently from some crashes along the way so it is good to see him in the mix again!

Fellow Aussie Metcalfe struggled a bit in the second moto finishing the day in 12th but Metty is still sitting in 4th for the championship!

250 MX:

A massive congratulations to Star Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin who has wrapped up the 250 championship while doing it tough in the mud of Indiana. Although the day belonged to Marvin Musquin, Martins performance in the championship has been world class and it is no surprise he will be riding for the USA at the MXON later this year.

The rest of the field was all over the place with plenty of crashes and un recognisable riding gear but the main thing riders took from the weekend we valuable championship points which are closer than ever for minor placing’s.

A mere 7 points separate Baggett, Webb and Musquin from second to fourth so next weekend the pressure will be on big time!
