The MXsteeze #45 with Jay Wilson

 

After a cracker of a season taking out the 2015 MX Nationals Australian MX2 championship Jay Wilson was announced to represent Australia alongside Todd Waters & Dean Ferris in the 2015 MXoN at Ernee, France on September 27.

Although there were some critiques with Jay's selection there was no denying that he'd been the standout in this year's MXNationals and we at MXstore were stoked to see Jay getting the call to represent Australia on the world stage.

Wilson rode a solid year in 2015 after losing his spot at the end of 2014 on the Serco Yamaha team. Jay bounced back with the support of Josh Coppins and the JCR Yamaha team to clinch the MX2 championship and gained a spot on the MXoN team alongside Dean Ferris and Todd Waters.

Unfortunately Jay suffered some bad luck just days before the big race after a small practice crash onto some sharp rocks tore a hole in Jay's abdomen. Although he may have been able to ride Jay decided to step down knowing he couldn't ride at his full capacity and relinquished his position on the team to last year's MX2 champion Luke Clout to give Australia their best chance in taking home a good result in the biggest MX race in the world.

Knowing Jay's fighting spirit we know he will be back in 2016 stronger, faster and hungrier than ever and we can't wait to see the result!
