1. WASH JERSEY:  Pre-wash jersey before application of any iron-on.

2. PREPARATION:  Lay down cloth sheet on a flat hard surface that is heat resistant.  Be careful not to burn the surface while ironing.  DO NOT use an ironing board because it is too soft.  Lay the jersey flat and smooth out the wrinkles.  You can iron onto a doubled layer jersey, i.e. front and back sandwiched together.

3. IRON USE:  Use a regular household iron.  Pre-heat iron for five (5) minutes at the cotton/wool setting, approximately 325-350 degrees. NEVER USE STEAM.

4. EXTRA COVER PAPER:  Use oven baking paper to mask off any other exposed transfers that the iron may touch.  Never allow the iron to touch any uncovered transfer as it will ruin the transfer and residue will stick to the iron.  If this happens, let the iron cool completely and clean off all residues from the bottom of iron.

5. TEST APPLICATION:  You may want to test transfer on an unseen portion of your jersey by using the application instructions below. If you need practice, test this process with a transfer you don’t plan to use on an old jersey or shirt tail, etc.

6. APPLICATION:  Apply iron 40-50 seconds per transfer with a little pressure while moving the iron in a small circular motion.  Reposition the iron as necessary to a new area while making sure you apply 100% heat coverage.  This, you will have to let the iron overlap onto an already ironed area (that is still covered with paper).  This also means that the overlapped area is getting more ironing time.  Let your finished transfer cool to room temperature and slowly peel up one corner of the paper and inspect.  Make sure that the edge of the transfer has a good bond.  You know this by seeing and feeling that the edges are smooth and round, no square edges.  If needed, recover and re-iron that area for approximately 15 seconds.  Let cool and re-inspect.  Repeat this process as necessary until you can easily peel off the entire paper.

7. WASH AND DRY:  As a rule, follow the jersey washing instructions first.  Always turn your garment inside out to wash.  This will minimise the amount of abrasion to the transfers. Generally the jersey with transfers can be machine washed in cold water using a mild detergent.  DO NOT USE BLEACH.  Remove garment from your machine immediately and allow it to air dry.  DO NOT PUT IN DRYER.
