If you've ever considered racing motocross, there's an endless list of reasons we could give you to get started. But, for this article, we've narrowed down our top four reasons to start racing motocross bikes!

More than just racing: Motocross is more than just racing, and as cliche as it sounds, it's very much a lifestyle. While the opportunity to race competitively against your mates is as fun as it gets, you'll also find yourself tinkering in the shed during the week, bench-racing with your crew, consuming all the moto content you can, and maybe even pursue fitness training to improve your riding. Some of these things riders would never do if they didn't race motocross, and it's all an 'unofficial' part of the sport.

Opportunity to travel: Motocross tracks are generally in regional areas, meaning there's plenty of opportunity to travel. Depending on how much you're willing to travel - and what your budget is - you could almost race at a different location every weekend, travelling all around the state and even the country!

Affordable motorsport: Motorsport is expensive, however, motocross is one of the most affordable and accessible. We're by no means saying it's cheap, but it's way more affordable than racing cars or road bikes. You can enter the sport with a low barrier to entry by picking up a second hand dirt bike, while gear is super affordable and licencing isn't too expensive either.

Rewarding & enjoyable: Motocross racing is one of the most rewarding sports in the world. Racing on different tracks, going back in forth in a battle, railing ruts, jumping jumps - there's no shortage of things to get stoked about. One of the cool things about motocross is the continued progression - you can start off in the clubman category, move up to intermediate, and then become pro. There's no limitations or barriers of where you can progress in the sport, compared to most other types motorsports or ball sports.
