When you're transporting your dirt bike from A to B, you want to make sure it's safe, secure, and easy to load and unload. That's where the Ballards Bike Rack/Carrier comes in.

In this article, we look at five things you should know about the handy motorbike rack.

Affordable transport alternative: Motocross is expensive, and finding a way to transport your dirt bike is no cheap exercise either, with most riding buying a trailer or using a ute/van. The Ballard's Bike Carrier is a more affordable alternative to move your bike around, and it takes up no extra space in your garage or backyard when parked up during the week.

Lightweight: Weighing in at just 25kg, the motorbike carrier is incredibly lightweight and suits vehicles with a 150kg tow ball capacity. The lightweight nature of the carrier means it's easy to install and remove, plus, it takes up minimal weight on the tow ball, allowing for most two-stroke and four-stroke dirt bikes to fit under the rated limit.

Strong & steady support: The dirt bike carrier is strong, sturdy and secure. It utilises a multi-adjustable loop over design that ensures your bike remains secure and give that have extra peace of mind, while the wheel straps and supports are incredibly strong and secure.

Multiple mounting points: There are a number of mounting positions and tie-down points, along with adjustable turnbuckles and removable shackles. This means your bike will remain secure and you can travel worry-free.

Fits most vehicles: The bike rack is extremely versatile and fits the majority of vehicles with a towbar and Hayman Reese style receivers. Keep in mind that if you have a tray-back ute or a 4WD with a spare tyre mounted to the back door, you may encounter some difficulty mounting your motorbike, however a hitch extension will solve this problem.

Corrugated roads.

How do the Ballard bike rack handle corrugated roads approx 600km with a Drz 400 on it ?

John on 8 April 2024
Hi John, this is a great question! As with any vehicles travelling for an extended period of time along corrugated roads regular maintenance / safety checks (nuts & bolts and tightness of tie down points) should be completed regularly , this includes tow-vehicles. But to answer your question: Yes! The ballards bike rack will handle such conditions, we have had many great stories of mates doing the Simpson desert, Kimberly's and lots of outback driving with the bikes on the back. Have a great day :)
