BATTLE IN THE BUSH 2025 CONONDALE

The Sunshine Coast MC Club produced an amazing track for 140 riders across 40 teams at Conondale’s legendary Green Park for the 2025 Motorex Battle In The Bush, presented by Fasthouse which set the vibes for the whole weekend.

Saturday’s Shakedown kicked off the fun with short laps on the eastern hill, plus challenges like the Pod Rut Limbo, SBS Brake Test, Pirelli Slow Race and the always-entertaining Motorex Barrel Race. Damon Erbacher, Brock Smith, Jack Bridges and more took home prizes, but the main win was the good vibes all round.

We also raised $1500 in support of BITB legend Tamara Gray, recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, with a raffle drawn by her sister and niece who raced in her honour on Sunday if you wanna help support her fight we have added a link below.

Sunday’s 4-Hour Relay saw perfect track conditions and a stacked gate of eager riders. Cody Schat took the $500 Pirelli Holeshot, while teams settled into rhythm. Two.O Motorsport put on a masterclass, clocking 83 laps and taking the win. We even had Dean Ferris coming out of retirement to ride with the Three Turkeys and punched in a 2:47 lap just one second off the race record. “This track is unreal. I’m just here to have fun with mates,” said Dean.

SFC Racing, with Julian Wilson, Emma McFerran, Daniel McCoy and Andrew Ridley, landed 3rd in Mixed. Julian said, “Everyone’s respectful out there it makes the ride way more enjoyable.” Emma added, “It’s one of my favourite events. Riding with Ridley and the team was a blast!”

The Vets had a huge turnout, with over-40 legends going hard. Braaap Brothers won it with 74 laps, followed closely by Brisbane Dirtbike Services and Off The Couches.

New this year was the Team1Lap award for last place, taken by Throttle Gremlins with 56 laps. Tayla Gerhardt summed it up: “First last is still a result!”

Social clips lit up post-event especially from Elijah Wiese, who praised the hardpack surface and epic prep by the SCMCC volunteers: “Way better than over-prepped nationals. More lines, better racing.” One of the weekend’s highlights came after the chequered flag when Travis Barclay rolled in on the limiter, smiling ear to ear: “Can’t wait to do more of these. Thanks MXstore for giving back to the racing community.”
